Ningbo, China - we successfully released 1500V super high power 255k string inverter at the Solis Global Release Conference on 17th July.
The year 2020. The year when the photovoltaic industry moves from subsidy to parity, and also the year of great technological change! Since the beginning of this year, at least 7 companies have released new PV modules, with the PV modules power moving from 500W to 600W+! The “Big” Era is not just for modules, and brings new challenges for inverters. Ginlong Technologies is undoubtedly in an excellent position to meet these challenges.
In this press conference, witnessed by State Grid, Sinopec, Tongwei, Chint, Canadian Solar, Jinko, Trina Solar, Risen Energy, Talesun, Panasonic and more than 30 other companies , Solis 1500V 255kW comes to the stage. This is the highest-power string inverter in the world and leads the revolution of the solar industry. The 255kW string inverter feature list includes the following:
- 12 MPPT and 24 string inputs
- Supports 200% DC/AC ratio
- 15A input per string, compatible with 500W+bifacial modules
- Output of 230kW even when ambient temperature is up to 45°C
- Reserve DC energy storage upgrade option
At the press conference, Mr. Bohua Wang, Secretary General of China Photovoltaic Industry Association, said that 2020 is the last year of photovoltaic subsidies, and we are about to push through the "last mile" of achieving affordable grid-connected access. The 1500V inverter products launched by Ginlong have an important role to play in reducing the cost of electricity and improving the power generation efficiency of solar systems. It is believed that, in the near future, we will see Ginlong Solis inverters in many affordable power plants.
Mr. Yiming Wang, President of Ginlong Technologies, pointed out that the parity grid access requires more efficient component products and more reliable system solutions to meet the needs of downstream customers. As a publicly-traded company with a primary focus on string inverters, Ginlong has long insisted on being technology-centric and market-oriented, making full use of its own technological advantages. It constantly strives to promote the development of cutting-edge technologies in the industry and believes technological innovation is the doorway to a reduction of photovoltaic power unit costs. He emphasized that he hopes to take this new product release as an opportunity to cooperate with global photovoltaic project investment and development companies in-depth to bring customers a more reliable and efficient experience through product upgrades.
Mr. Ting Hua, Senior Manager of Ginlong Technologies, introduced the four characteristics of the new 1500V inverter product to the audience: Efficient, Safe, Smart and Economic. In fact, this is also the common pursuit of all photovoltaic practitioners in the parity era.
It is reported that this product adopts 12 MPPT design, supports over 200% high DC/AC ratio, and at the same time, the maximum input current is increased to 15A. Whether it is a 500W+ module based on 210mm battery, or a larger power module based on 182mm battery, it is the best partner for high-power and double-sided modules. In terms of safety, the product features a fuse-free design, which is safe and maintenance-free; the whole machine reaches IP66 protection level, adapting to various complex environments. In addition, the product supports intelligent monitoring of strings through IV curve scanning, and accurately locates abnormal strings; of great significance for improving operation and maintenance efficiency and reducing operation and maintenance costs.
Volatility is a point that has long been a criticism of photovoltaics. Since the power generated by the photovoltaic system depends on the lighting conditions, it will inevitably have a certain impact on the power grid, and this can be a challenge for weak power grids. Hua Ting said that Ginlong Technologies’ latest products have strong weak grid support capabilities, effectively avoiding off-grid situations, and at the same time offers reserve DC energy storage interfaces. In the future, they can be used with energy storage systems to make the output power of the power station smoother.
Mr. Sisheng Li, General Manager of New Energy Division Secretary General of INES PowerChina International Group Limited, said that the battle between 182mm and 210mm has not yet been decided. There is no doubt that large-size silicon wafers are the long-term development trend of the photovoltaic industry in the future which demands higher requirements from the industrial supply chain. Especially on the application side, how to solve the impact of the uninterrupted power supply on the power grid and how to solve the photovoltaic solutions with special climates are issues that the photovoltaic industry has to think about in the parity era. He emphasized that 1500V technology is conducive to improving the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation systems. It will drive the development of upstream and downstream industries, further improving industry standards, and leading the innovative application of new photovoltaic power generation technologies. It is a powerful weapon for the photovoltaic industry to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Mr. Hong Wu, Electrical Engineer of The Eleventh Science and Technology said that the 1500V system voltage has become a recognized cost reduction method in the industry. He pointed out that with the continuous innovation of photovoltaic technology and material technology as well as improvements in the efficiency of batteries, insulation level of materials, and the improvements in manufacturing processes this makes system high voltages possible. From a system perspective, higher input and output voltage levels can reduce line losses on the AC and DC sides, and the system efficiency of the power station is expected to increase by 1.5-2%, playing an irreplaceable role in parity access.
Chief Editor of Solarbe Mr. Yu Cao concluded that all the guests present today not only witnessed the release of a new generation of ultra-high-power inverter, but were also glad to see that the photovoltaic industry is consciously integrating and synergizing. After decades of development, the photovoltaic industries pursuit is not only to improve power and efficiency, but to maximize product application value.
