Zhejiang, China – May 29, 2020. Ginlong Technologies (Stock Code: 300763.SZ), a global leader in photovoltaic string inverter manufacturing, is the third largest Chinese exporter in its category, according to market research firm Energy Trend. Listed as the Top Third inverter supplier for the month of April, Ginlong's market share represents over seven percent of total exports. Representing nearly seven percent fewer shipments in April, compared to March.
The Netherlands and the U.S. were the top two importers of Chinese inverters for the period of January to April. While they have been cyclically alternating, the Netherlands surpassed the U.S. by nearly twice the volume in April ($50M vs. $25M USD). Poland's inverter imports experienced a sharp uptake and rose to sixth place (with $9.5M), increasing its demand by 100MW since January.
Like most sectors, COVID-19 effected the solar market and softened demand from markets such as Europe, the United States and India. The pandemic shut down economies, stalled PV installations and kept new projects on hold. As economies begin to re-open, manufacturers like Ginlong Solis are ready to resume shipments.
"To prepare for PV's recovery, we expedited safety and employee rotation programs to ensure the health and productivity of our manufacturing staff. Thanks to these measures we were able to continue production and meet the needs of our global customers," say Yiming Wang, President of Ginlong technologies.
Solis quickly deployed a broad employee testing effort using nucleic acid detection tests for the coronavirus. Employees are guided through strict disinfection and epidemic prevention procedures on a daily basis. The company also opened a psychological counseling hotline to support its staff, distributed protective masks to employees and their families, and even hired hairdressers to come onsite.
Solis was recognized for its "shared-employee" program, working with other tech manufacturers to increase the number of workers that could safely return to work, with safe production measures in place at the Solis factory within two weeks of the first local shut-downs.
"Employee care is a top priority for Solis," says Wang. "We are committed to making everyone safe through every possible measure. This is how we can ensure supply to our global customers and continue on our path for strong growth."
