Recently, Global Top 20 Companies on PV 2022, sponsored and hosted by one of the most authoritative photovoltaic media--PVP365 was released: Solis ranks as top 2 Chinese listed inverter companies 2022.

In the past 9 years, PVP365 has observed the rapid development of photovoltaic industry, and delivered first-hand information and industry weather vane for industry personnel.

According to a third-party independent report in 2021,Solis ranked top 3 globally in terms of inverter shipments, behind only Sungrow and Huawei.

In 2021, the solar PV market was challenged with supply chain issues, soaring component and freight prices, and uncertainties caused by COVID-19. The inverter sector continued to suffer from “core shortages” and companies all competing with each other for short supply on components.

Despite these challenges global inverter shipments broke records, reaching over 200 GW. In particular, because of the rising percentage of distributed generation, wider MPPT operating voltage range, convenience of maintenance and large stand-alone power, and possibly most significantly the cost gap between string inverters and centralized has gradually reduced, accelerating the penetration of string inverters into large scale ground mount power stations.

According to research, in 2021 string inverters accounted for over 70% share of the global inverter market, up by more than 10% v's 2020. This share figure reaches 80-90% in some countries such Poland, Germany Vietnam and Thailand and China. According to a TF Securities report, the percentage of string inverters in central and state-owned tenders for ground power station reached 81%.
